Katie did a great job summarizing the historical background of the Victorian period. I like that she uploaded pictures that shows how people from Victorian era used to dress. Just like the "day in life" assignment, I think it is very important to learn these "period" lifestyles to understand what influenced development of their design styles.

Ali focused on a broad range of American period design styles along with their
political and historical background. I enjoyed reading her blog and appreciate how she mentioned that mass production of furniture caused handcrafted designs to be of less valued than it used to be.
